The Smoky Mountains Hiking Club: Through its Appalachian Trail Maintainers Committee maintains 102 miles of the AT from Wesser, NC through Fontana, NC and on through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to Davenport Gap. Davenport Gap is on the TN/NC state line where it is crossed by TN State Hwy 32. Interested trail maintenance volunteers can visit the club’s website and fill in the form, or can send an E-mail to recruiting@smhclub.org. Volunteers can also join any of the clubs outings as they are listed on the website.
